Current State of Affairs

So - pretty much everything is on hold until at most April 30th.

All the posted stories are marked Complete (yay!), except for the three that are on-going stories (Max Boyce, Smartest Witch and Music Appreciation).

The Western Sky Series 3 is being written, but is now on hold until after Script Frenzy. The same for A New Dawn : Enemies and Nineteen Years Later (version 2.0).

I have also started doodling "Twlight over Ingleside", but so far all I have is the opening scene (see later for something that just occurred to me) and a vague idea of what could happen. But there is no plot - not even the idea of a plot - so that is really not going to be ready any time soon. (And even if it is, I am not certain there are any sites I can currently post it to. HP Fandom is out, because it is not an HP story (unusual for me, I know), and ForeverFandom doesn't have a Green Gables section (and while it is a Twilight Crossover, there is only one, maybe two Twilight characters, so I suspect that it won't qualify).

There is FF.Net, but since I swore blind I would not go back there, I guess I will have to find somewhere else.....

Anyway - "The Princess Husband" is going to be my main focus for the next 54 days (except for five days when my beloved comes to visit) and it will be posted after that, then normal service can resume!

9th Floor and The Western Sky

So - Series 2 of The Western Sky is complete, and I am in the process of proofing it and posting it. "Respect For Your Elders" (Episode 2x09) is up, and tomorrow I am going to move on to Episode 2x10 ("Hallie Potter, At Your Service").

In addition, I have posted a complete story (more or less) called "The 9th Floor". This is another tv show type story, but rather than having big dramatic fights and evil beings, it is a simple political drama, in the vein of The West Wing and Commander In Chief.

It deals with life at The Ministry, and with the families of those involved. Also, a group of children starting Hogwarts - the kids of the families and so forth.

Whether I continue it is kind of dependent on the number of reads/reviews it gets - since it is not a typical story, I don't know if people will be interested in it or not, and while I do mostly write for my own enjoyment, I have other series (A New Dawn, The Western Sky Series 3, Christmas in Sunnydale, Return To Willamette and Nineteen Years Later to name but a few) I can be working on as well.....

So - that's where it is.

Restarting Nineteen Years Later

Lucius Malfoy looked down the length of Diagon Alley, and smiled.

While the weekly Devotion Meetings were always very fulfilling, this one marked the fourteenth anniversary of the end of the war, and The Unity Squads had been out far more often to ensure they got maximum attendance.

From what he could see, they'd done their job very well - The Alley was packed, with hundreds of people carrying unity banners and waving flags with images of his Royal Majesty.

"Minister Malfoy - it's time" He smiled down at his assistant - Saffron always enjoyed the meetings, and he was fairly certain that - after they were finished - she would be more than willing to join him in a post meeting celebration.

"Thank you, Saffron" He smiled as she giggled. In the decade since his wife had been executed for treason, he had had quite a few companions, but - he had to admit - Saffron was proving the most entertaining and delightful.

"You're welcome, Minister" She nodded, then took a step back as he walked up to the platform and turned to face the crowd.

"People of Britain" He paused to let the cheers calm down "I stand before you today, pleased to announce the longest era of growth and prosperity the county has seen" There was more applause, and he smiled genially "It's now fourteen years since the rebellion against his Royal Majesty was crushed - fourteen years in which we have hunted down the traitors, the terrorists and those who would disrupt the peaceful running of our glorious country" He paused, then beamed "And this morning, I am proud to announce that...." He trailed off, frowning as he realised there was music playing in the background.

"Early one morning"

"Minister?" Saffron walked up behind him.

"Just as the sun was rising"

"Where is that coming from?" He asked quietly, still looking around.

"I heard a maiden singing"

"I don't know, Minister, but I will find out" She turned, and clicked her fingers at a few of the security agents flanking the podium.

"In the valley below"

Lucius turned back to see the crowd looking around in confusion.

"Ladies and gentlemen - do not panic. This is merely a minor disturbance, and we will have it sorted out momentarily" He looked around The Alley again, then turned back to see Saffron looking confused.

"Shut that noise off now, or don't bother coming in to work tomorrow" He yelled at her. She looked around wildly, but still could not find the source of the music.

"Oh do not leave me"

"People! Do not...." He started again, then trailed off as the crowd started pointing up.

"Minister!" Saffron pointed above him, to where a giant wolf's head had appeared, jaws dripping blood as it snapped at the people below.

Lucius turned back to the now panicking audience, then glanced up to the roof of Flourish and Blots.

"Do not deceive me"

Three figures, all dressed in deep purple robes, were stood on top of the bookshop, all with wands drawn, and pointing towards him.

"Saffron...." He tried to get her attention, but his voice came out as a whisper.

A moment later, he saw three beams of green light lance out of the wands, and fly through the air towards him.

As the crowd screamed in terror, he realised that he, at least, was getting off easy. At least Voldemort would not be able to to torture him for this failure.

"How could you use a poor maiden so?"

Hermione Granger-Weasley turned away from the scene below them, and looked to her two fellow assassins.

"Lets go" She said, then all three turned on the spot, and vanished, leaving the screaming, panicked crowd below, and the giant, snarling wolf's head above.

Sidious is FINISHED!!

That's right - The main story line of "Harry Potter and The Dark Lord Sidious" is now complete. I finished the epilogue around twenty minutes ago, then edited it and finished it again about five minutes ago (it's better than it was - the ending lacked something originally!)

There are seven more "story arc" chapters to post (including the epilogue), and then three chapters after that - Snape's Letter, a complete list of members of The Conspiracy and how they were punished, and a complete disclaimer/notes chapter (mostly answering questions from reviews, and one or two other things that came up).

The three additional chapters will be posted at the same time as the last two, while the other five chapters (16, 17, 18, 19 and 20) will be posted once every two or three days over the coming fortnight, since they still need to be properly proof-read.

But it is done, and I am actually very happy with how it has turned out. The Battle Hymn scene went exactly as I wanted, and the two final chapters also turned out as I pictured them in my head. Which is nice.

I think after this there will be a short break (probably involving Blue Dragon) and then I am going to try to get back to "Enemies", since I should finish off "A New Dawn" before going on to anything else.

(On a related note, I have figured out how to restart 19 years Later, so hopefully that will follow "A New Dawn"'s completion).

But for now, I am just happy that my first proper time travel story is finished. Because the last two chapters were a complete bitch to get right.

Nineteen Years Later - Hiatus

So - it seems I just can not remember what the plot of NYL should be. I've got the 19 Years Plotted out (generally death on a large scale, plus a few babies and weddings), but as for what happens after the 19 Years are up - I really have no idea.

So for the moment I'm putting it on Hiatus. It's not completely abandoned, but until I can work out some idea of what should be going on, I really can't write any more of it.

So my deepest apologies to anyone who was waiting for it to be continued, but I have tried and tried for the past two or three weeks to continue with it, and it is just not happening. And since I have some standards (not a lot, but some) I can't write something I am not sure about - it would go badly wrong and end up not being worth reading.

So - again - my apologies.

General Catch Up Post

So - now that the fun and frolics of NaNo2008 are done with, I am sorting out the rest of the stories.

Firstly - Now and Then has been posted on both sites in its entirety. There were a few modifications from the original text (mostly spelling and grammar, but a few minor changes to the way things were phrased), and overall it was what I first wrote during NaNo.

Second - The Darkest Dawn is being posted on both sites. It is taking a little longer to post, because I am beta-ing it as I go along (since it's over two months since I wrote the first dozen chapters or so). Again - it's mostly staying the same, with a few changes of what people are saying.

So once TDD is finished (there's one more story chapter, then a number of "bonus" chapters) I am going to return to Nineteen Years Later and The Western Sky Series 2. In addition, I have restarted M.I.B and am doing full plotting stuff at the moment.

Annoyingly, I have an idea for a time-travel story involving Luna (a single story, rather than the single-chapter story that is "The Smartest Witch"). It came about from watching the Andromeda episode Ouroboros, and made me start thinking about either Luna doing the same thing (without telling anyone else). Plus most time-travel stories are about Harry going back - Harry being the last survivor, and I figure it's about time someone else got to have some fun. But that really is just in the rough planning stage, and doesn't have a suitable plot or title, and consequently is not on my urgent list.

Nineteen Years Later is being replotted (I lost the notepad that contained the complete pre-history, which means it has to be rewritten), and I should get back to that in the New Year (due to work and other commitents).

The Western Sky is an on-going thing, and I am up to Episode 2x05 ("Shadows From The Past" is the working title), even though on 2x01 has been posted (I am doing a three chapters ahead thing).

So - that's where things are.

My stories have character. Quite a lot of then, it appears

I have spent the past three nights collating all the characters in the various fanfictions I have written. The main reason for this is that I think I am starting to reuse names, without realising it.

So I used the local fiction site I set up (using eFic on my computer upstairs), I have created lists of characters for each fandom (Harry Potter, Charmed, Buffy etc), and started assigning them to stories.

That way, if I need an Auror in TWS, I can look through all Auror characters, and pull one out (eg Miss Sally Jones).

But what I didn't realise is HOW MANY characters there are. And how many characters appear in some stories. Deathly Silence - one of the shortest and simplest stories - has 27 different characters in. So does Nineteen Years Later, which is only three chapters long. And Lost In Middle Earth has over 40!

I haven't even got to the Silent Trio series yet - I am somewhat scared!

All in all, it was quite an eye opener.

So ends the week of hell.

It's now 3:39am, although really it's only 2:39am (British Summer Time, don't you know?)

And the week of hell is over. The M22 debacle is now behind me, and at least two people have followed me over to the new site. Which is nice of them.

I wonder if I could set up a mailing list? Maybe I'll think about it, but for now (well - for tomorrow) I am going to start on 1x11 (the second part of the Back To School Two Parter, and the one featuring something I have been thinking about for a while) and continue with Lost II (although that is proving harder than it did when I was hand writing it. Should I go back to hand writing it? Maybe)

I want to continue with 19YL, but it is proving a nightmare to write. The in between parts especially.

Anyways. WOH-M22 is done. Which is nice.

The choice

I have already made my choice. It is now up to the site admins to see whether I implement it or not.

I have written a "final chapter" for The Western Sky, explaining why the story is being suspended on Fanfic.Net, and, come Saturday/Sunday - if there is no response from the site admins, I will post it, and that will be that. I will download the stories I don't have copies of, and then remove them from the site completely. Mostly because I am not having people read them without scene breaks, because it is just wrong.

I will lose the comments, but I can't see a way round it. I am not fixing 49 chapters, especially if I wil have to do all this again in a months time when they cotton on to the "xoxox" thing.

Noon on Saturday is the deadline I will assign in my head. That will give them over 48 hours to respond to the e-mail I sent.

Lost In Hyrule?

TWS and 19YL are not really going anywhere. Well - that's not true. They are going places, just not very quickly.

And last night, as I was falling asleep, I had an idea about a new story, the next part to Lost In Middle Earth.

Set in Ocarina of Time, it would have Harry and Hermione (again), or possibly Harry and Luna, staring as Link and Navi, with various other HP characters as members of the Hyrule cast, including Zelda, Darunia, Saria, Impa and company, as well as the Big Temple Bads and (well duh) Ganon.

My biggest problem is not the casting (although I have no idea about that), but how to tell the story. Do I go through each Dungeon, or just do the highlights of each? (Finding the fairy slingshot, fighting the boss etc).

I will give this more thought, and maybe write one or two chapters, just to see how it goes. Plus I have to work out the cast before I start. Though I am pretty sure that Ron would be Darunia if Harry is Link, and even if it turns out there is a female link (Minnie or Luna), Ron could still be the Goron leader.

So - what do you think? Can I do it? Should I even try?

Postponed Posting

I had every intention of either writing the next two chapters of 19YL or the end of the current episode of Western Sky tonight. I was going to do it whilst I reinstalled XP on my computer (I have a laptop as well, remember?). However due to Nero being utterly crap and completely useless, I could not get a copy that would create a bootdisk for me, so I did not get to install XP. And because I spent a fair portion of the night swearing at a piece of luh-suh that masquerades as software, I didn't get any writing done. Which is good, cause the mood I was in, I suspect I would have had Luna and Harry tortured to death by pygmies and snorkacks. And I am pretty sure that wouldn't have gone down well with the readers!

Hopefully tomorrow night I can try again, and this time actually get somewhere.

A temporary pause

I have been away for the weekend, and am going away tomorrow. As a result, there will be very little story writing done. I think I might have a go at the Historic part of Nineteen Years Later, but The Western Sky (1x07) will probably not be completed until Saturday, if not Sunday. It has only just started, and although I have an idea of what I am going to do with it, there are bits that are still blurry.

But 19YL should be a bit easier, as I have a plan of what the nineteen years contained, so writing it should be easier (and now that I have said that......)

A somewhat typical first post

So, my name is Angelholme, and I write fanfiction (and sometimes original fiction, but that is less common).

At the moment, I am heavily buried in the world of Harry Potter, because it is just such a fun place to write stories about. However I also have a somewhat vague plan to continue a story I stared a while back - the eighth series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, set in a town called Covenston. I abandoned it a while back because I was having characterisation troubles, but recently, and after writing a lot for HP, I think I might be able to pull it off.

I write mainly at three sites - fanfiction.net (under the name Angelholme), hpfandom.net (under the name SammyWrae) and my own site (http://angelholme.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/), although this needs updating pretty badly.

I tend to write three types of stories.

The first is "arc" stories, or sagas. They generally have one or two major plot arcs, and a number of minor ones. Examples of these are "The Silent Trio" series and "The Western Sky".

The second is single arc stories. They have either one or two parts (generally one), and are based around a single idea. Examples of these are "Project Darkling", "Nineteen Years Later" and "Return To Grace".

The third is parodies/comedies. These I mostly write when the mood strikes me, or when I have an idea that just won't go away. Examples of these are "Lost in Middle Earth", "The Smartest Witch" and "Harry Potter and The Deathly Silence".

There are also one-shots, but these generally come from the first or second type of stories, and I just run out of ideas as to how to write them the way I want them.


Mostly I am going to use this for news about story updates - what chapters are up, what stories are close to completion, and ideas for new stories.

Currently, Nineteen Years Later is up to chapter 4 (and is no where near finished), and I am writing Episode 1x04 of The Western Sky (the first series has fourteen episodes, so it is about a third of the way through).

And honestly, that is about all I have to say for now. I could tell you all about me, but since I am not one for publishing personal information on the web, that seems unlikely. I could tell you all about my fanfic history, and I might do that in the future. I could tell you all about my sweetheart, but again - personal information and so forth.

I will update this as often as is necessary, or as often as I feel like. So, until then, have a nice day.
